Kindergarten 2026 - Enrolments Open Now

A warm welcome to the start of your child’s learning journey at Jindabyne Public School

Starting school is a big step, for children and for families. At Jindabyne Public School, we make that step exciting, reassuring, and full of possibilities.

Our location in the Snowy Mountains gives students the chance to learn and grow in a truly unique environment, surrounded by nature and a close-knit community. From their very first day, our Kindergarten students are supported by caring teachers who take the time to understand each child’s strengths, interests, and needs.

Our KindyStart program helps children settle in, meet friends, and become familiar with school before their first day.

Next Steps:

1. Submit your  Expression of Interest form. By completing this form you will register your child to participate in our 5-week Kindystart Program.

What to expect in Kindergarten

Learning and development

Kindergarten follows the NSW curriculum. Children build early skills in literacy, numeracy, creative arts, health and physical activity, science and technology. Learning through play also supports social, emotional and academic growth.

Daily routines

Children learn routines such as morning arrival, snack and lunch breaks, lining up, using bubblers and moving safely around the school. Teachers guide children as they settle in, but practising at home helps.

Best Start Assessment

At the start of the year, all Kindergarten children take part in the Best Start Assessment. This is a friendly, one-on-one activity where teachers learn about your child’s literacy and numeracy skills. It is not a test and needs no preparation.
