Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.

Bullying Prevention at JPS
At Jindabyne Public School, we take bullying seriously and are committed to fostering a culture of respect and resilience among our students and school community.
After successfully introducing the Backflips Against Bullying program in 2023, this year we had the pleasure of hosting the team from Backflips Against Bullying for another action-packed performance. Through engaging Parkour and Acrobatics, they covered important topics like Resilience, Self-Reflection, and Cyber-Bullying, ensuring our students are informed and empowered to create a harassment-free school environment.
The key messages from the performance are reinforced with classroom activities, helping to maintain our strong stance against bullying. Check out our highlight video to see how our students were captivated by the interactive show, featuring some impressive improvisational acting skills from our very own students.
Every child has the right to come to school feeling safe
At Jindabyne Public School we reject all forms of bullying. Our goal is to:
- Educate young people on the impacts of bullying and help them make wise, respectful choices when facing conflict with others
- Create a safe environment where students know they can get help and be supported if bullying occurs
- Work closely with our community to be proactive around bullying and harassment in the Jindabyne community
Support can also be found at the school through the following contacts:
- talk to your child's classroom teacher or the Assistant Principal of their Stage
- In situations where you have immediate and grave concerns for the wellbeing of your child, contact the Principal
