In NSW primary schools, the study of a language is optional.
Language study allows students to develop communication skills, learn about languages as systems and explore the relationship between language and culture. Students engage with the linguistic and cultural diversity of societies and reflect on their understanding of social interactions.

We acknowledge the Monero-Ngarigo People as the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and learn. We recognise the knowledge and experiences of our First Nations people, their connection to the land, the mountains, and the water. We pay our respects to elders of the past, present and the future, their knowledge, traditions and culture, and the part these play in ensuring the success of future generations.
