Celebrating Excellence: Jindabyne Public School Awards Presentations

Awards Day 2024

On Friday December 13, Jindabyne Public School came alive with celebration as students, staff, and families gathered for two inspiring Awards Presentation ceremonies. The events recognised the hard work, growth, and achievements of students across all stages, highlighting the vibrant and supportive school community.

Early Stage 1 and Stage 1 Awards Presentation

The morning ceremony, hosted with poise by Stage 1 students Miles, Ryker, Zahli, and Ilaria, set a joyful tone for the day. Relieving Principal Mrs Elizabeth Dwyer applauded the students’ dedication throughout the year, while Kindergarten students beamed as they received achievement books donated by the P&C.

The performance of "Jingle Bell Rock" by Kindergarten and Stage 1 students delighted the audience, bringing festive cheer. Awards for Academic Achievement, Consistent Effort, and Improvement celebrated individual progress, while special awards like the Citizenship Award and Wendy Farmer Memorial Library Award highlighted exceptional contributions.

Teacher Ms Bron Moncrieff was honoured with the Director of Educational Leadership Award, presented on behalf of Keith Duran, our local Director of Educational Leadership. Bron’s remarkable dedication to education has been evident throughout her journey with us—from the days of Jindabyne Public School to Jindabyne Central School, and back to Jindabyne Public School. Her unwavering commitment to improving educational outcomes has made a lasting impact on our school and the wider community.

Stage 2 and Stage 3 Awards Presentation

In the afternoon, student leaders Zeke Brooke, Marley Lewis, Lachlan Bell, and Zara Byrnes took the stage to host the Stage 2 and Stage 3 ceremony with confidence. After Mrs Dwyer’s heartfelt address, students showcased their enthusiasm with a spirited rendition of "Aussie Jingle Bells."

The ceremony shone a spotlight on extraordinary achievements, from academic excellence and sportsmanship to leadership and citizenship. Notable moments included the announcement of the 2025 Primary Leadership Team—Hugo Bateman and Matilda Forsdyke as School Captains, and Samuel Preston and Makenna Phillips as Vice Captains—and the Primary School Dux award presented to Lilou Storey.

Year 6 students bid farewell with generosity, donating $1000 for a new school gift and another $1000 toward the Year 6 camp, leaving a lasting legacy as they graduated with certificates and a moving song.

Both ceremonies also marked a bittersweet moment as the school farewelled Deputy Principal Instructional Leader Elizabeth Dwyer, Relieving Assistant Principal Curriculum and Instruction Jessie Thorne, RFF Sport teacher Alyssa Mannion, and Communications Officer Clare Wood. Their dedication and impact were warmly acknowledged.

The day was a celebration of excellence, effort, and community spirit. Congratulations to all award recipients, and a heartfelt thank you to the staff who made the day possible and the families who joined us. We look forward to another remarkable year in 2025, especially as we embrace the opportunities offered by our new facilities!
